Joining a small and creative department, you’ll help bring our audiobooks to international audiences by supporting the buying and selling of audio recordings with publishers in the UK, Australia, and Canada. In addition to liaising with external partners, you’ll work closely with the Audio Editorial and Production teams to coordinate assets and track timelines as we continue to grow our business. The Licensing Assistant will spend a lot of time in spreadsheets, balancing multiple deadlines, and supporting workflows with many moving parts. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, able to prioritize and communicate accordingly, and can be an active team player who balances working autonomously and collaboratively in both in-office and remote environments. Responsibilities
Supporting the sale and purchase of recordings by tracking production timelines and assisting with the delivery of audio files to international partners Maintaining internal records to ensure information is accurate and up to date Managing invoices and payment tracking/chasing for file fees Researching and responding to queries regarding production timelines and recording details Drafting and processing standard Masters Licensing Agreements using approved contract boilerplates Qualifications
A customer service–oriented, diplomatic approach to communication, with the ability to balance the needs of internal teams and external partners Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment Creative and proactive problem-solving skills, including the ability to anticipate issues and help identify practical solutions Comfort working extensively with spreadsheets, tracking tools, and shared databases Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team, escalating issues appropriately when needed Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Teams A level of excitement in absorbing stories through different mediums — whether reading, audiobooks, podcasts, or more Location, Schedule & Hybrid Work
The Penguin Random House national headquarters is located in New York City. This is a hybrid position, requiring approximately 2-3 days per week at our 1745 Broadway location. We will consider candidates who live within a commutable distance to our offices, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT, & PA). Compensation & Benefits
The salary for this position is $51,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results. Application Process
