Heyco Products, a PennEngineering Company, is a leading American manufacturer with nearly 100 years of expertise. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join our Supply Chain team. This role is responsible for ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to support production while maintaining optimal inventory levels and strong supplier relationships.
What You’ll Do
Procure raw materials, resale products, packaging, and MRO supplies to support production requirements
Review MRP and requisitions and prepare purchase orders and bid requests
Manage supplier relationships, including pricing, quality, availability, and delivery schedules
Monitor inventory levels and adjust reorder points based on demand patterns and forecasts
Coordinate with Supply Chain and Manufacturing to resolve material and delivery issues
Analyze supply chain processes and support continuous improvement initiatives
Track supplier and company on-time delivery performance and drive corrective actions
Manage excess inventory and help prevent overproduction
Create inventory and performance reports for leadership
Organize and schedule customer deliveries and track production volumes
Serve as a liaison between Manufacturing and other departments to ensure material readiness

Requirements What We’re Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree and 3–5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience (or equivalent combination)
Strong knowledge of MRP systems
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
Professional certification such as CSCP is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future visa sponsorship.
Physical Requirements Must be able to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Vision and focus abilities required.
Work Environment Primarily indoors with moderate noise. PPE required when in the plant.
