Era Living is seeking a full-time Terrace Life Enrichment Lead to become the newest member of our Terrace team located in our The Gardens at Town Square Community, Bellevue, WA. Available shifts will be scheduled Monday - Friday, 08:30am - 05:00pm.

Primary Responsibilities The Terrace Life Enrichment Lead supports the cognitive enrichment program of the Terrace (secured Memory Care), providing programming and assistance to the residents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Create and promote cognitive enrichment, physical fitness and social programming and lead large and small recreation groups
Communicate and work with residents and/or family members to establish interests and preferences for activities
Working with the Life Enrichment Director assists with planning, developing goals and objectives for specific cognitive care programs
Document resident participation and behavioral changes daily
Actively participate in care conferences
Set up space and equipment for programs and clean up after activities
Provide transportation for group outings and care safe toileting and mobility support for residents who are out of the community
Create monthly activities calendars for the Terrace residents
Working with the Life Enrichment Director, provide guidance to the Terrace Recreation team as needed
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Ability to use computer and Microsoft Windows programs
Valid WA state driver license and driving record that meets Era Living standards and ability to drive a 14 passenger bus; Must be 25 years old
Ability to read, write and communicate in English
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Ability to perform duties in compliance with established Universal Precautions, fire safety, infection control and sanitation procedures, and Era Living policies and procedures
Ability to pass DSHS background check, required
Education and Experience
Some college courses in recreation, gerontology or equivalent experience, required: Bachelor’s degree in related field of studies, preferred
Experience with older adults and/or cognitively challenged individuals, preferred
Experience in leading group activities and/or events, required
Experience in a leadership role in an activities or events department, preferred
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist designation, preferred
Food Handler’s Certificate or able to obtain within 14 days of hire
First Aid and CPR certified or able to obtain within 60 days of hire, as required
Caregiver Dementia or Caregiver Mental Health certificate or able to obtain within 30 days of hire, required; All new life enrichment hires who did not work in a boarding home setting in 2011 must attend a 70 hour course to earn a long term care aide certificate
Able to obtain the required 12 hours of CE needed yearly to be completed by birthdate
