Our client, a leading and fast‑growing metal fabrication organization in the Chicagoland area, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Sales Support Specialist to join their expanding team. As they continue to widen their market presence and capabilities, this role will play a key part in supporting sales operations, driving customer satisfaction, and ensuring smooth internal coordination.

About the Role

The Sales Support Specialist will support the sales team by managing sales orders, quote requests, and new business opportunities. This individual will collaborate closely with internal departments—including engineering, estimating, logistics, and purchasing—to ensure seamless workflow from customer inquiry to order completion. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, an excellent communicator, and thrives in a collaborative environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Process sales opportunities, quote requests, and customer orders through the ERP system.
  • Partner directly with sales team members and leadership to support sales initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams across engineering, estimating, logistics, and purchasing to ensure accurate and timely order execution.
  • Implement customer purchase orders in coordination with the assigned salesperson.
  • Communicate with customers regarding quote requests, order status, and follow‑up needs.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships grounded in trust and responsiveness.
  • Support business development by researching prospective clients.
  • Prepare and maintain management reports, sales presentations, and marketing materials.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in Inside Sales, Customer Service, or a related support role.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
