Job Summary
The Director of Employee Well-being has the responsibility for the strategic leadership of the USG well-being program. This includes revitalizing the vision, initiatives, direction, and management for the well-being program. Effectively market and communicate the program to engage employees across all institutions to increase participation and achieve recognizable outcomes. The Director will partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement in the health of the USG population. The Director will ensure the quality and effectiveness of the well-being program and care management programs to ensure effective implementation and ongoing engagement from all USG institutions. This will include tracking program effectiveness, participation, and outcomes and will provide regular opportunity recommendations and continual improvement. This position will ensure that the program is compliant with regulatory and statutory rules.
Responsibilities
Provide strategic direction and leadership for the overall well-being program for the University System of Georgia. Work collaboratively with institutional leadership, team members, vendors and consultants to create innovative well-being programs to enable USG institutions to attract top talent and to improve or maintain the health of current employees. Ensure impactful outcomes of current programs and discover new initiatives in areas of disease management, prevention and overall highest health trends across the system. Oversee the nutrition agenda across institutions by establishing a workplace health analysis to develop suggestions and actions for each institution. Engage System Office and institution leadership by recommending adoption of suggestions found. Lead the overall well-being program administration including contract negotiations, vendor and consultant relationships and compliance oversight. Present, inform and provide advice to senior level leadership regarding well-being strategy. Lead and support system-wide well-being committees Serve on system-wide committees as appointed Maintain collaborative relationships with health and retirement team partners to ensure seamless integration of programs into the overall well-being strategy. Advise leadership on trends and relevant laws and other environmental factors impacting employer-based well-being programs and impact to engagement and participation. Maintain well-being liaison network and support well-being champion network development at campus locations to ensure a constant high level of engagement, ongoing. Determine program success, data measurement points, and continuously monitor programs against metrics and goals. Oversee the communication strategy and delivery adherence of all well-being aligned programs by working closely with internal and external resources to develop and implement the strategy. Provide day-to-day management of the USG well-being program. Work with human resources and the broader rewards team to ensure policies and procedures related to the well-being program are in place and up-to-date and recommend new policy based on strategic plan. Identify areas of opportunity for cost savings to plan and participants, efficiencies in plan operations and risk reduction. Work with internal and external advisors, attorneys, and experts to meet goals and objectives. Manage and deliver on other responsibilities as assigned Required Qualifications
Master's degree in a related field required or equivalent experience and training in public health or health education At least five years experience in leadership or strategic decision-making role At least five years experience administering well-being programs in a large employer setting Preferred Qualifications
Experience with healthcare plan administration and with the rules and laws applicable to healthcare plans Higher education experience Experience in managing staff Strong communication and marketing experience Large Event Planning experience Certified Health Education Specialist, Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist, Certified Wellness Practitioner or Disease Management Certification, preferred Proposed Salary
The hiring range for this position is $100,600 to $140,000. The selected candidate's starting salary will be based on his/her relevant qualifications.
