Purchasing Specialist
Location: South Bend (onsite) Compensation: $55,000-60,000 + bonus + benefits!
Our client is seeking a
Purchasing Specialist
to support a growing manufacturing operation with
three production facilities . This role plays a critical part in ensuring materials are ordered, inventory is accurate, and vendors are aligned to keep production moving smoothly. If you enjoy building vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and taking ownership of purchasing from start to finish, this could be a great fit.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase raw materials, components, and supplies to support
three manufacturing plants
Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
Maintain accurate inventory levels, including
cycle counting and inventory reconciliation
Monitor open purchase orders and proactively follow up on
late or delayed POs
Communicate regularly with vendors by phone and email to resolve issues quickly
Work closely with operations, production, and accounting teams to support plant needs
Enter and manage purchase orders using
QuickBooks
Track purchasing data, pricing, and inventory using
Microsoft Excel
Use
Microsoft Outlook
for daily communication and coordination What We're Looking For
Experience in purchasing, procurement, or inventory management (manufacturing environment required)
Comfortable negotiating with vendors and building long-term relationships
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficient in
Excel, Outlook, and QuickBooks
Willing to
pick up the phone
and communicate directly with vendors
Team player who can adapt, pitch in, and support a small-company environment
Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple locations
