Our client is seeking an experienced and strategic
Director of Human Resources
to lead all HR functions in a dynamic and predominantly unionized environment. This is a high-impact leadership role for a seasoned HR executive who excels at guiding HR teams, aligning people strategies with business goals, and fostering a positive workplace culture. The Director will play a critical role in talent acquisition, labor relations, compliance, employee development, and organizational planning.

The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to drive organizational performance, enhance workforce engagement, and implement best-in-class HR policies and programs.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all Human Resources functions, including labor relations, recruiting, benefits, performance management, employee relations, and succession planning. Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR strategies that support organizational goals and foster continuous improvement. Direct talent acquisition efforts to ensure timely hiring of top talent and successful onboarding experiences. Serve as the lead advisor on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, investigations, and terminations. Oversee compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws; maintain and update policies, procedures, and employee handbooks. Represent the company in labor negotiations, grievances, and arbitration processes. Design and implement employee development and training programs that support retention and career growth. Cultivate an inclusive, engaging workplace culture that promotes high performance and employee well-being. Use HRIS systems to track workforce data and trends; deliver insights and reports to inform strategic decision-making. Manage departmental budgets and contribute to organizational resource planning. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 10 years managing HR teams. Experience working in a unionized environment is highly preferred. HR certifications such as SPHR or SHRM-SCP are a strong plus. Proven ability to handle labor relations, dispute resolution, and compliance matters. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead across all organizational levels. Demonstrated success in creating and executing HR strategy aligned to business outcomes. Physical Requirements
