Serve as the primary HR contact for assigned departments or business units, providing guidance on organizational effectiveness, team structure, and change management.\nLead efforts to design and evolve organizational structures that support scalability, clarity in roles, and alignment with strategic HR, team, and financial goals.\nTranslate business objectives into integrated HR strategies that drive performance, engagement, and retention.\nLeverage workforce analytics to diagnose trends, influence decisions, and guide talent initiatives including retention, employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.\nEmployee Relations Management

Conduct objective and thorough investigations into workplace concerns, policy violations, and misconduct, including complex and high-risk matters. Present recommendations that align with company practice and values.\nIdentify and mitigate emerging workforce risks by analyzing employee relations data and collaborating with HR leadership.\nEnsure records, communication, and follow-through steps are documented in a detailed and timely manner to internal standards.\nAnalyze data and information to identify emerging employment issues and trends.\nCoaching & Performance Support

Provide consultation to employees and leaders related to HR policies and practices to promote a culture of continuous development.\nGuide leaders in delivering feedback, managing performance, and conducting fair and consistent evaluations.\nCoach leaders on handling difficult conversations with empathy and accountability.\nPartner with L&D on development opportunities aligned with performance or leadership needs.\nWorkplace Accommodations & ADA Support

Serve as the lead point of contact for workplace accommodations in the assigned area.\nConduct the ADA interactive process in collaboration with Leave and Legal teams, ensuring timely, respectful resolution.\nEducate leaders on roles and responsibilities in managing accommodations and maintaining compliance.\nHR Policy & Compliance Application

Overview

We are seeking an experienced

Director of Human Resources

to lead and manage all HR functions for a growing, multi-state organization with approximately 90 employees across three locations. This is a

hands-on, standalone HR leadership role

supporting both warehouse and office employees in New Jersey, Florida, and Tennessee. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in benefits administration, full-cycle recruiting, employee relations, compliance, and payroll oversight.

Key Responsibilities

Human Resources Leadership\nServe as the sole HR leader supporting three locations and acting as a trusted advisor to leadership

Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and compliance initiatives

Manage employee relations, performance management, terminations, and investigations

Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and employee lifecycle processes\nBenefits & Compensation

Lead all benefits administration, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) programs

Partner with brokers and vendors to manage renewals, enrollments, and employee communications

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations\nRecruiting & Talent Acquisition

Own full-cycle recruiting for warehouse and office roles across NJ, FL, and TN

Manage sourcing, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes

Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and staffing plans\nPayroll & Administration

Review and oversee bi-weekly payroll processing for 90 W-2 employees using Paylocity

Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and coordination with Finance

Support audits and maintain accurate HR records\nOperations & Facilities Support

Coordinate logistics for company meetings, including hotel arrangements

Oversee light fleet management for leased vehicles

Order office and facility supplies for all locations

Travel approximately once per year to each location\nQualifications

Bachelor's degree required

SHRM certification required (SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP)

20 years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a standalone or highly autonomous role

Strong benefits management experience required

Proven full-cycle recruiting experience across multiple states

Payroll oversight experience; Paylocity preferred
