Sales Store Checker

The primary purpose of this position is to operate a cash register scanning system to check out items and to receive payment for purchases made in a Defense Commissary Agency Commissary. This job is open to current appointable DeCA employees in store @ Eglin AFB with Career or Career Conditional status, Military Spouse Preference eligible, Priority Placement Program eligible, ICTAP, and Veteran Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) eligible veterans. Additional positions may be filled from this announcement. Duties include operating an electronic checkout system, managing change machines, assisting customers, counting cash and negotiable instruments, managing self-checkout registers, changing register tape, and clearing routing equipment and scanning jams on registers. Requirements include being a U.S. citizen or national, meeting minimum age requirement, registering with or being exempt from Selective Service, successful verification of identity and employment eligibility through E-Verify, obtaining and maintaining clearance eligibility based on the appropriate background investigation, and meeting the physical requirements identified in the Qualifications section. Qualifications include meeting the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 2091 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date.
