Investment Banking Director - Media and Entertainment
Intrepid, a specialty investment bank and the middlemarket advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG), is seeking a highly motivated Investment Banking Director to join its Los Angeles office and advise entrepreneurial media and entertainment companies.
Responsibilities
- Manage the daytoday client relationship and oversee all key aspects of deal execution, including managing the deal team.
- Organize, review, and analyze due diligence processes and materials.
- Develop valuation analyses and models (projections, LBO, DCF, public comparables, historical M&A transactions, etc.).
- Oversee the preparation of pitchbooks, information memoranda, management presentations, and marketing materials.
- Compile prospective acquirer lists and contact acquirers.
- Perform and oversee key steps in the sale execution process.
- Build relationships and maintain direct contact with current and prospective clients.
- Assist senior bankers in firm building activities (training, recruiting, mentoring, etc.).
Qualifications
- 8+ years of sellside M&A advisory and investment banking experience.
- Outstanding academic credentials from a top tier school.
- Team player willing to take an integral role in Intrepids growth.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Highly proficient financial analysis and modeling skills.
- Significant level of maturity and the ability to work as part of a small team.
- Selfstarter willing to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding and fast paced environment.
- Proficiency with S&P Capital IQ and online data room platforms.
- Ability to perform complex financial analysis, respected as a team player, and possess proven business development skills with the ability to effectively sell complex advisory products.
- Have or obtain the necessary FINRA Series licenses.
Compensation and Benefits
The typical base pay is $225,000 depending on jobrelated knowledge, skills, experience, and location, and the role may also be eligible for discretionary performancebased bonus and/or incentive compensation.
