Assistant Director of Admissions & Recruitment , you’ll help shape how students first experience CWI – from high school visits and campus tours to community events and follow-up communication that keeps them moving forward.

You’ll lead a team of Admissions Counselors, strengthen recruitment strategy through data and CRM tools, and ensure every future student receives clear, welcoming, and accurate guidance. Responsibilities Lead and Develop a High-Performing Admissions Team

Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Admissions Counselors and student staff.

Provide regular coaching, 1:1 meetings, and performance feedback to promote growth and accountability.

Foster a strong customer-service culture aligned with departmental values and recruitment frameworks.

Coordinate staff schedules and coverage to support recruitment events, school visits, and campus initiatives.

Drive Strategic Recruitment and Outreach Efforts

Oversee recruitment initiatives focused on high school students and community engagement.

Ensure presentations, campus tours, school visits, and events are engaging, accurate, and aligned with key messaging.

Collaborate with Marketing to refine recruitment materials, swag, and outreach strategies based on trends and field insights.

Build and maintain strong partnerships with school counselors and community stakeholders.

Use Data, Systems, and Processes to Improve Enrollment Outcomes

Coach staff to effectively use the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to track, communicate with, and support prospective students.

Monitor recruitment activity, communication flow, and follow-up strategies to improve conversion through the admissions funnel.

Evaluate and refine departmental procedures, ensuring alignment with key performance indicators and best practices.

Contribute to ongoing assessment, strategic planning, and process improvement as part of the leadership team.

Ensure Compliance, Consistency, and Institutional Alignment

Communicate and uphold college policies, admissions procedures, and customer service standards.

Stay current on federal, state, and professional admissions regulations and best practices.

Support department budgeting awareness and responsible resource use.

Participate in leadership meetings, institutional initiatives, and projects that advance Student Access goals.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

Three years of experience in admissions, enrollment management, student services, or equivalent setting. Experience working in a community college setting preferred.

At least two years of experience in budgeting, including developing, monitoring, and reporting on departmental budgets.

Minimum of three (3) years of experience directing and supervising full-time professional staff, including hiring, training, development, and evaluation.

Demonstrated experience in inspiring high-performing teams through transparent decision-making, fostering a culture of accountability, and consistently meeting or exceeding strategic goals.

Strong cross-cultural interpersonal and writing skills are necessary, including public speaking skills and ability to represent the college in a positive way to diverse populations.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.

Most positions at CWI are in-person and based on campus. While some roles may allow up to two remote workdays per week, eligibility for remote work is determined on a case-by-case basis at the hiring manager's discretion. All candidates must reside within, or be willing to relocate to, a reasonable commuting distance from CWI. Employment visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
