Accounting Director

is a vital leader responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting processes across our Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions segment, the largest division at Cardinal Health. This role entails developing and leading a team of professionals to uphold effective accounting and control practices, ensuring accurate financial records. The Director will also act as a principal business partner within the organization, crucially supporting various business initiatives. Location

- We are primarily seeking candidates based in Central Ohio, who are willing to work in-office on a hybrid schedule, typically 3 days a week at our corporate HQ in Dublin, OH, and 2 days a week remotely. Responsibilities Navigate, present, and communicate effectively with all organizational levels, translating technical accounting matters for non-finance professionals.

Lead, organize, and inspire a team of accounting professionals.

Utilize concepts of risk and materiality to make informed judgments regarding complex accounting estimates and reserves.

Foster relationships inside and outside the reporting chain to align with organizational objectives.

Support key business initiatives, such as mergers and acquisitions, tax projects, audits, and system implementations.

Conduct technical accounting research and evaluate different accounting conclusions.

Manage key business process outsourcing (BPO) relationships.

Lead initiatives to improve processes.

Identify, implement, and maintain critical internal controls while collaborating with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications Prefer candidates with a public accounting background (Big 4 or large firm), alongside industry experience within a publicly traded organization.

8+ years of leadership experience in accounting, with a strong proficiency in identifying technical accounting issues.

CPA certification is preferred.

Experience in drafting technical accounting memos.

Familiarity with assessing diverse business transactions under US GAAP, including ASC-606 and ASC 805.

Experience in risk assessment and control design per Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards.

Knowledge of financial statement risks associated with automated and semi-automated back-office systems.

Experience in drafting, interpreting, and applying accounting policies.

Anticipated salary range:
