Director of Accounting , you will be a key leader responsible for overseeing accounting and financial reporting across our Pharmaceutical and Specialty Solutions segment, the largest division at Cardinal Health. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build and lead a team of talented professionals dedicated to maintaining effective accounting practices and accurate financial record-keeping. Additionally, you will act as a key business partner within the organization, significantly contributing to various business initiatives. Location

- Our corporate headquarters is located at Dublin, OH, and we are looking for candidates from Central Ohio who are open to working in the office on a hybrid schedule—typically 3 days at our HQ and 2 days remotely. Key Responsibilities Engage with all organizational levels by effectively communicating and translating complex accounting issues for non-finance professionals. Inspire and lead a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and dynamic work environment. Utilize risk and materiality concepts to make informed decisions regarding complex accounting estimates and reserves. Build strong relationships within and outside the reporting structure to align with organizational objectives. Support critical business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, tax projects, audits, and system implementations. Conduct thorough technical accounting research and assess various accounting conclusions. Manage key business process outsourcing (BPO) relationships effectively. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify, implement, and maintain essential internal controls while collaborating closely with internal and external auditors. Qualifications A preferred background in public accounting (Big 4 or large firm experience) and industry experience in a publicly traded organization. 8+ years of leadership experience in accounting, with a strong proficiency in identifying and navigating technical accounting issues. CPA certification is preferred. Experience in writing technical accounting memos is valuable. Familiarity with business transactions under US GAAP, including ASC-606 and ASC 805. Experience in risk assessment and control design per Public Company Accounting Oversight Board standards. Knowledge of financial statement risks associated with automated and semi-automated back-office systems. Experience in drafting, interpreting, and applying accounting policies effectively. Handle sensitive situations with ease, persuading others while nurturing positive relationships. Salary and Benefits The anticipated salary range for this position is $116,500 - $197,010, and the role is bonus eligible.
