Founded 1912 255 active memberships with approximately 600 members Located in northern Litchfield County 59-acre site with a 9-hole / 2,805-yard golf course designed by A.W. Tillinghast; practice green; 6 har-tru tennis courts; 5,600 sf seasonal clubhouse with bar and restaurant; new maintenance building completed in 2025. Active season April 1- November 1 Job Description
Year-round full-time working supervisor with reduced days/hours in the off-season Manage up to 4 full-time and 3 part-time employees Open/close and season-long care and maintenance of the property including golf course, tennis courts, clubhouse, ancillary buildings, plantings and surrounding grounds Maintain and repair all machinery and equipment Manage irrigation system and water usage Manage expenses per Club budget and policies and participate in annual budgeting process Communicate regularly with Board of Governors, management and committees. Off-season work including but not limited to equipment maintenance, blade sharpening, building maintenance and upkeep, maintenance of cart paths, tree work, etc. Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years as golf course superintendent or 5 years as first assistant Turf-maintenance degree preferred, but not required Comprehensive knowledge of turf management, including fertilization, pesticide and irrigation systems and protocols Functional carpentry and mechanical skills Computer skills required for budgeting, financial reporting and operations control Valid driver’s license Commercial Supervisor License for pesticides preferred, but not required. Excellent record keeping as related to pesticide use, equipment maintenance, employee hours, etc. Compensation
$65k - $85k depending on experience, qualifications and proper licensing Paid time off Year-end bonus Dues paid for GCSAA Continuing education Golf and tennis privileges 401(k)
