Job Overview The Sales Incentive Strategy and BI Specialist will lead analytical, financial, and business intelligence efforts supporting the Special Discount program and broader incentive strategies across MBUSA. This role combines advanced analytics, BI engineering, and strategic forecasting to optimize incentive spend, strengthen sales performance, and ensure accuracy of the Special Discount budget.
The specialist will act as the primary BI and forecasting expert, leveraging Databricks, Power BI, and other tools to build robust data pipelines, automate reporting, and generate scenario-based “what-if” models used by senior leadership. This position partners closely with Sales Operations, Pre-Owned Operations, Remarketing, Fleet, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, and Strategic Volume Planning to align incentive programs with financial targets and market opportunities.
The role will support the department in developing data-driven incentive strategies, enhancing analytics accuracy, and ensuring all programs are reconciled and reported correctly for management and audit purposes.
Responsibilities
Develop advanced BI solutions including Databricks data pipelines, Python/SQL scripts, Power BI dashboards, and automated reporting tools to support data-driven sales incentive decision-making.
Build and maintain forecasting models used to evaluate Special Discount program performance, optimize spend, and identify profitable sales opportunities.
Manage and administer the Special Discount Budget, including modeling, reconciliation, and financial oversight.
Drive the development and execution of the Sales Incentive business analytics strategy.
Lead financial strategy for new car, pre-owned, remarketing, and fleet incentive programs.
Create short- and long-term incentive program scenarios using BI tools to identify volume opportunities, assess profitability, and propose strategic recommendations.
Establish, develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders on cross-departmental assignments.
Support the auditor relationship and ensure incentive programs meet all internal control standards.
Serve as the primary owner for historical data validation, forecasting enhancements, and sensitivity analysis across all incentive programs.
Ensure all incentive processes, controls, and analytical documentation are accurate, auditable, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
Qualifications
Accredited school
or equivalent work experience
Must have 4-8 years (total) of experience in the following:
Business Management : Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, human resource management and efficiency and process methods.
Finance : Knowledge and understanding of the implications of key financial indicators and controls and assessing impact of financial information.
Risk Management : Knowledge of fundamental business practices, concepts and techniques to protect and preserve assets and/or minimize/control loss, such as avoidance, loss prevention and reduction, retention, grouping of exposure units, and transfer. Should include knowledge of fidelity, surety, liability, property, and group related policies and coverages.
Automotive-Retail : Comprehensive Knowledge of retail processes and procedures, with emphasis in New and Pre-owned sales, accessories, service and parts.
Information Technology : Knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages. Proficiency with data visualization tools such as PowerBI and Tableau. Understanding of cloud-based data architectures within AWS. Advanced development of Power BI dashboards, data models, DAX measures, and automated reporting.
