This position will closely align with the Mobility Development team to direct and maintain the library of mobility apps and services related to the Mobile Apps Family at MBUSA. The Mobility Engineer will provide technical oversight, development and collaborative alignment/support with external development team(s), while working closely with all our App Partners, including Digital House, Research & Development, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services, and other 3rd party vendors. Support strategies to align better to global standards, within both MBUSA and the industry, while initiating immediate efficiencies where applicable. This role will also closely align with defined roadmaps and timelines across multiple business units and products to support product development and operational support. Responsibilities
Manage the day-to-day operations of iOS/Android App Stores for app releases, updates, and account management Work with Mobility Dev Lead & Product Scrum Master/PM to continuously define, groom, and execute backlog features/tasks App design / Development
Familiar with Firebase, Google Analytics, etc in order to generate users’ insights and market trends for consumer facing Apps Familiar with Splunk, AppDynamics, etc in order to monitor Application health, log incidents and predict future crashes Knowledge of UX and UI Identify and plan for new features Develop application programming interfaces (APIs) to support mobile functionality Remain up to date with the terminology, concepts and best practices for coding mobile apps Versatile team player and individual contributor with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Work closely with colleagues to constantly innovate app functionality and design Use and adapt existing web applications for apps Conduct unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions Communicate with users to understand their needs and experiences Development
Responsible for developing in accordance with MBUSA system development Methodologies. Designing, programming, and troubleshooting problems on new or existing technologies. Interface with Product Owner and business partners to develop new requirements and specifications as requested. Adhere to Security and quality standards, develop test plans, and oversee unit testing and pilots as required. Ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget. Recommend, document, and update long-term strategy for hardware / software supporting Product Owner and business partners. Develop proposals, identify costs and propose release schedules. Provide day-to-day support, including troubleshooting existing technology, services and applications to isolate and resolve technical issues. Review and analyze existing solutions, making proactive recommendations for enhanced performance, security and usability. Implement recommendations with management approval. Digital Transformation
Define, execute and manage the mobility roadmap, ensuring all products are designed with a customer-centric mindset Support the Telematics and Mobile apps reporting and analytics Ensure End-to-End Customer and Dealer Journey are aligned to achieve specific business goals Partner closely with product, business and IT leaders across relevant business units to define optimal products and Digital House, Research & Development, Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Compliance and Information Security
Be compliant with IT controls for the required products. Ensure planning, implementation, and appropriate controls in place to meet information security requirements and tasks. Provide constructive ideas and suggestions to Product Owners and Managers. Education University degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in information technology field with focus on business applications, using agile working methods. Knowledge / Experience of at least one programming language: Swift and Java Experience in Enterprise Architecture and Data Management High analytic and strategic thinking Independent working attitude Experience/ Functional knowledge in mobile app designing, maintenance and development Experience in leading development projects for Onshore and Offshore model Good experience working with Architects BSA and Client Managers. Good experience in working on time critical deliverables using Agile Methodology. Experienced with Jenkins methodologies including CI (Continuous Integration) and CD (Continuous Deployment). Exceptional ability to master new technologies and deliver outputs in short deadlines. Successfully delivered projects under strict schedules and following quality control. Technical Skills
