Studio BANAA is a design-driven architecture studio focused on hospitality, food, beverage, and community spaces. We’re growing, with several new projects coming online, and are looking for an
Intermediate Designer
to join our team and help move work forward across multiple active projects.
This role is ideal for someone with solid experience who enjoys both conceptual design and production, and who wants real responsibility within a small, collaborative studio.
What You’ll Do
Develop design work from concept through construction documents
Take clear design direction from the Design Lead and push it forward independently
Use SketchUp and hand sketching to explore ideas quickly and communicate intent
Produce drawings, 3d models, and visual material at a high level
Participate in internal design reviews and contribute design thinking
Coordinate with consultants as needed
Support project delivery on hospitality and commercial projects
What We’re Looking For
4–8 years of professional experience in architecture or interior architecture
Strong design sensibility and spatial thinking
Comfort working between hand sketches, SketchUp, and Revit
Solid Revit skills and understanding of CD production
Experience working on built projects
Ability to take feedback, iterate, and manage your own time
Interest and experience in hospitality, food, and experience-driven spaces
What This Role Is (and Is Not)
This is
not
an entry-level position
You’ll be expected to own portions of projects, not just execute tasks
You’ll receive clear design direction, but you won’t be micromanaged
This is a design-forward role that balances thinking and production
Why Studio BANAA
Small team with direct access to leadership
Opportunity to work across multiple project phases
Clear growth path as the studio expands
Competitive compensation based on experience
Location San Francisco preferred. Hybrid work environment available for the right candidate.
How to Apply Please send:
Resume
Portfolio (PDF or link) that includes design process work, not just final images
