To learn more, visit .* Define and lead end-to-end solution architecture on AWS, ensuring scalability, security, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.* Lead the design and implementation of AWS-based data lake and lakehouse architectures, integrating new components with existing enterprise systems.* Architect scalable data platforms, including batch and streaming pipelines, ELT/ETL frameworks, and analytics consumption layers.* Provide architectural guidance on cloud cost optimization, performance tuning, reliability, and security best practices.* Review solution designs, conduct architecture assessments, and proactively identify and mitigate technical risks.* Optimize platform performance across storage, compute, partitioning strategies, and workload orchestration.* Drive cloud data platform modernization initiatives, leveraging AWS-native services and complementary tooling.* Design and oversee implementation of modern ELT patterns, including data modeling and transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt).* Integrate data platforms with enterprise data sources, downstream analytics tools, and operational systems.* Apply data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, including IAM/RBAC, data masking, encryption, and auditability.* Support analytics and data consumption use cases by applying UX-aware data design and semantic modeling patterns.* Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, guiding architectural decisions, trade-offs, and long-term platform roadmaps.* Collaborate closely with stakeholders, Product Owners, and Engineering teams to translate business and technical requirements into clear, actionable architectures.* Listen to and anticipate client needs, providing consultative guidance and identifying opportunities for additional value.* Support prioritization, roadmap planning, and stakeholder alignment across multiple teams and workstreams.* Serve as the technical lead for project teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and adherence to best practices.* Mentor and guide engineers and architects, fostering skills development, knowledge sharing, and technical excellence.* Contribute to internal standards, reference architectures, and reusable patterns for AWS data platforms.* Participate in technical evaluations and recruitment efforts, including interviews and technical screenings.* Represent Apex Systems with clients and broader technical communities as a senior subject matter expert.* Support pre-sales activities, including solution scoping, architecture design, estimates, and client presentations.* Provide subject matter expertise to sales and account teams during discovery and proposal development.* Help shape solution approaches for new opportunities and emerging client needs.* 10+ years of experience in enterprise data engineering, analytics, or solution architecture, with deep AWS experience.* Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, IAM, networking, and security services.* Proven experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale data lakes or lakehouse architectures.* Experience with data modeling (Kimball/Inmon), dbt, and modern ELT patterns.* Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience with distributed processing frameworks preferred.* Strong understanding of governance, security, and compliance in cloud data platforms.* Experience working in Agile delivery environments, leading teams through design, implementation, and deployment.* Excellent consultative and communication skills, with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders.* BA/BS required, preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or related fields (applicable education and experience may be substituted).* Advanced degree (MS) in a quantitative or related discipline preferred (applicable experience may be substituted).* Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments preferred.* Familiarity with streaming and real-time data architectures preferred.* Exposure to DataOps concepts and CI/CD pipelines for data platforms preferred.* Experience supporting or designing ML/AI-enabled analytics use cases preferred.* Prior consulting experience with client-facing architecture ownership preferred.* Competitive Salary* Health, Dental and Vision Insurance* Health Savings Accounts (HSA) with Employer Contribution* Flexible Spending Accounts* Long and Short-Term Disability* Life Insurance* Voluntary Benefits* Employee Assistance Program* Paid Parental Leave* Wellness Incentives* Vacation and Holiday Pay* 401(k) Retirement Plan with Employer Match* Employee Stock Purchase* Training and Advancement opportunities* Tuition Reimbursement* Birthdays Off* Philanthropic Opportunities* Referral Program* Partial Gym Membership Paid* Team Building Events* Discount Programs*Apex Systems is an equal opportunity employer.
