A fitness director manages a fitness facility's operations and leads all aspects of the center, from building fitness programs and scheduling staff to overseeing the budget and ensuring equipment is safe and functional. Key Responsibilities
Manage business administration including cash management, budgets, and payroll. Enforce fitness center policies and ensure cleanliness and safety of equipment. Create SaaS solutions for global central booking and POS management. Assist patrons in designing workouts to improve structural integrity, cardio capacity, and overall fitness. Provide staff with information to keep CPR education and safety procedures current. Implement biannual employee safety training (first aid, CPR, job‑related safety precautions). Conduct training on safety, security, and proper use of all strength and cardio equipment. Open and assess the facility for cleanliness and ensure all equipment is operational. Ensure effective payroll control and operating margins; improve net and gross profit margins to maximize profitability. Coordinate an education series on Alzheimer’s/dementia for caregivers to better care for residents. Provide behavioral/emotional support and supervision for those with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
