Description Position Summary Humboldt Park Health is seeking a strategic and experienced
Director of Pharmacy
to lead all pharmacy operations, medication management, clinical pharmacy services, and regulatory compliance across the hospital. This leader will oversee pharmacy staff, optimize workflows, manage the drug budget, strengthen patient safety practices, and ensure the delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical care.

Key Responsibilities Operational Leadership
Direct and oversee all pharmacy operations including inpatient, outpatient, and sterile compounding services.
Ensure timely, safe, and accurate medication distribution across the hospital.
Manage staffing levels, scheduling, resource allocation, and workload prioritization.
Clinical Pharmacy Oversight
Strengthen clinical pharmacy programs and medication management initiatives.
Support clinical consults, medication therapy management, and evidence-based prescribing practices.
Partner with nursing, medical staff, and interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes.
Regulatory and Quality Compliance
Maintain full compliance with all pharmacy-related regulatory bodies, licensing requirements, and accreditation standards.
Oversee controlled substance management and diversion prevention programs.
Implement and monitor quality improvement initiatives that enhance medication safety and clinical effectiveness.
Strategic and Financial Management
Develop, manage, and optimize the pharmacy budget including drug spend, inventory control, and purchasing contracts.
Implement cost-saving strategies without compromising safety or clinical quality.
Lead strategic planning for pharmacy services including technology adoption, automation, and service-line expansion.
Leadership, Development, and Culture
Recruit, develop, and mentor pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and support team members.
Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Build strong internal relationships with physicians, nurses, and administrators to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
5 to 7 years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital or health system.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) required.
Active Illinois Pharmacist license required.
Proven experience in hospital pharmacy operations, clinical pharmacy services, formulary management, and regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
