Electric Distribution Engineering Designer I
to join our
Electric Distribution Team
in
Houston, TX , where you’ll support the design and development of electric distribution system projects that keep our communities powered. This unique opportunity blends technical drafting, field exposure, and interdisciplinary coordination—helping translate engineering vision into constructible designs.
What You'll Do:
Produce and revise simple engineering drawings or sketches under the guidance of senior designers or engineers, following established technical standards
Examine drawings for accuracy and quality with support from senior team members
Participate in project review meetings and accompany senior staff on field assignments when appropriate
Utilize drawing production software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and REVIT to create construction documents
Assist with contract document preparation in order to develop familiarity with discipline-specific codes, standards, and design practices
What You Bring:
Associate’s Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science, or a related technical field required
No prior experience required—related document production experience preferred
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
Familiarity with design software (AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, etc.) and a willingness to learn about respective engineering discipline

Salary Range: $27.88 - $29.80
Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
