True Classic is hiring a highly skilled and proactive
Senior Technical Designer
to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment and can operate end‑to‑end across the technical design function. The Senior Technical Designer will build systems and processes from the ground up, lead fittings across multiple categories, and take on responsibilities typically held by junior and associate–level team members when needed. Lead fit sessions for all assigned menswear and womenswear categories, providing clear and actionable recommendations to improve fit, balance, construction, and comfort.
Evaluate samples across multiple sizes and body types to ensure consistency and scalability.

Technical Packages & Specifications
Create, update, and maintain complete tech packs, specs, and BOMs with a high degree of accuracy in Centric PLM.
Execute detailed sample comments, measurement updates, construction notes, and vendor communication.
Own style development from concept proto → PPS → TOP, managing all technical checkpoints.
Grading & Standard Improvements
Proactively identify grading issues and propose improvements that align with brand fit strategy.
Maintain and refine blocks, measurement standards, and grading rules across categories.
Analyze returns, customer reviews, and data to identify trends and drive measurable improvements in fit and quality.
Systems, Processes & Tools
Build systems, templates, workflows, and technical documentation from scratch to improve efficiency and consistency.
Implement new processes that streamline communication, reduce errors, and improve speed‑to‑market.
Own PLM organization, process maps, fit libraries, and spec standardization.
Hands‑On Execution
Measure all samples, prep for fittings, take detailed fit notes, track approvals, and complete spec updates as needed — especially in peak workload periods.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Comfortable receiving and digesting feedback at all levels, interpreting leadership direction into thoughtful, high‑quality, and actionable steps that enhance product consistency, accuracy, and overall fit standards.
Partner with Design, Sourcing, Production, and Merchandising to ensure technical feasibility while maintaining creative intent and margin goals.
Own all technical design‑related communication with overseas vendors, tracking all samples, sending fit comments, troubleshooting grading, resolving issues quickly and effectively.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Apparel Engineering, or related field.
7‑12 years of experience in Technical Design, preferably in menswear or multi‑category product development in both knits and wovens.
Advanced understanding of patternmaking, grading, garment construction, and manufacturing processes.
