Volunteer: Graphic Design Support For Social Media Templates
Creshendo, New York, New York, us, 10261
Overview
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections. Our goal for this Taproot Project is to create a set of visually engaging, on-brand social media templates that will help us build a consistent and compelling presence on Instagram and LinkedIn. We are looking for a volunteer graphic designer to: Responsibilities
Develop 4–6 reusable templates for social media posts such as quotes, program highlights, event promotions, and storytelling spotlights Align the templates with our brand style (colors, fonts, tone) that reflects our mission of fostering belonging and resilience for refugees and migrants Offer basic guidance on how to adapt and maintain these templates for future posts The volunteer’s support will help us reach new audiences, grow engagement, and amplify the voices of the communities we serve. We anticipate the work taking 2–5 hours per week over a 4–6 week period, depending on the volunteer’s pace and availability. Through working with our organization on this project, the volunteer will support our mission by helping us reach and engage new audiences through social media—amplifying the voices of refugees, migrants, and displaced individuals. A strong, cohesive social media presence will allow us to share stories of resilience, belonging, and hope with wider communities. This project directly supports our mission of fostering inclusive, resilient communities and creating meaningful social impact through storytelling, education, and advocacy. By enhancing our visual storytelling, you’ll help us celebrate human dignity and inspire others to support integration over assimilation. Our Director of Marketing & Communications, who brings two decades of experience in nonprofit communications and brand strategy, will work 1:1 with the volunteer to ensure clear guidance and efficient collaboration. We’ve already outlined the types of social media templates we need (quotes, event promotions, storytelling highlights, and impact stats) and gathered examples of styles that inspire us. Our team has aligned on our brand colors, fonts, and tone of voice, and we’ve prepared draft copy to streamline the design process. In addition to the Director, we have a small but dedicated team ready to support implementation and provide timely feedback. Once the templates are complete, our team will actively use and adapt them to build our social media presence, ensuring that the volunteer’s work has lasting impact. Creshendo Mission: Creshendo’s mission is to empower displaced populations by fostering their integration and self-reliance. Through specialized programs and support services, we equip them with the tools, knowledge, and resources to navigate new environments, advocate for their needs, and achieve their aspirations.
