Job Summary Your Career The Solutions Consultant is the evolution of the traditional Sales Engineering role, aligning how we best serve our customers in understanding their environment, providing solution guidance and ensuring value realization in their investment with Palo Alto Networks. As a Solutions Consultant you provide technical leadership and expertise and guidance in your customer’s security transformation journey. You will play a key role in defining technical solutions that secure a customer’s key business imperatives and ensuring value realization of their investment with Palo Alto Networks. You evangelize our industry leadership in on-prem, cloud, and security operations services that establish PANW as your customer’s cybersecurity partner of choice. Your Responsibilities
Meetings: Build and implement strategic, technical account plans that target cross-platform solutions and help meet/exceed sales quotas.
Customer understanding: Understand key business requirements and be able to position, demonstrate, and create high-level designs across the PANW portfolio to create business value.
Adoption and value realization: Drive customer adoption of Palo Alto Networks Platform and help customers achieve increased productivity, security efficacy, and flexibility to innovate.
Discovery and articulation: Conduct discovery to understand and articulate the key technical, operational, and commercial imperatives of prospects and customers.
Engagement and collaboration: Work with Professional Services, Customer Success and Specialist teams to ensure implementation and adoption of solutions.
Communication and demonstrations: Deliver clear and impactful presentations and customer-specific demos; lead technical engagements and workshops.
Technical validation: Lead successful technical validation efforts based on best practices to drive a technical win in opportunities.
Cross-functional leadership: Drive collaboration with Specialists, Channel Resources, and Customer Support to maintain a one-team approach.
End-to-end solutions: Promote solutions that include PANW and partner professional services to realize business value sooner.
Market awareness: Understand the competitive landscape and differentiate PANW’s leadership in cybersecurity.
Continuous development: Invest in technical and professional growth and participate in the Solutions Consultant community and industry events.
Stakeholder management: Identify technical stakeholders and build relationships to drive a security architecture transformation roadmap.
Qualifications
6+ years of experience in pre-sales or sales engineering.
Skilled in at least one of: Networking, Network Security, Cybersecurity, Private/Public Cloud Security, SOC/Endpoint, or SASE.
Experience delivering cybersecurity solutions that solve technical challenges and influence business initiatives.
Ability to influence and gain buy-in from key stakeholders; prior pre-sales experience is ideal.
Experience creating and delivering technical presentations, workshops, or technical validation engagements.
Experience in selling, designing, implementing, or managing Network Security, SASE, SaaS, CNAPP and/or SOC Transformation technologies.
Experience partnering with Customer Support to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
Experience in complex sales with long cycles and multi-product solutions is preferred.
This is a field sales position with travel requirements; discuss specifics with the recruiter.
Proficient in English.
Compensation and Benefits The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be the annual range listed below.
