
Connections Personnel is hiring for a
Direct Hire Sales Representative for our client located in Somerset, NJ (Main location) and covering in Folcroft, PA (When needed).
Looking for a candidate with 3-5 years of food service sales experience to perform a range of responsibilities within the Foodservice Division, including overseeing territory sales operations, driving sales and revenue growth and maintaining strong customer relationships to ensure performance goals are met. Verifying customer purchase orders, addressing and resolving issues, managing accounts receivable, conducting research to identify opportunities for improvement and developing sales strategies to expand sales.
Responsibilities
Execute daily operational tasks including monitoring open purchase orders and accounts receivable and assisting with customer inquiries.
Manage accounts receivable by collecting payments and processing payment requests (e.g., maintaining deductions, rectifying pricing discrepancies).
Support sales initiatives by attending food industry trade shows, coordinating and managing customer promotions and recommending new products to existing buyers.
Conduct research on the foodservice industry, including identifying potential customers, analyzing competitors and staying informed on market trends to enhance strategic positioning.
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, buyers and brokers to strengthen company presence in the food industry.
Introduce new items to both new and existing customer base.
Contribute toward new product sales goals and expansion.
Prepare sales reports and forecasts for Management.
Provide regular updates on sales performance and market trends.
Requirements
Prior Foodservice distribution experience preferred but not required.
Familiarity or interest in plant-based food is preferred.
Entry-level position with 3-5 years of food service sales experience is ideal.
Depending on candidate’s location will be mainly working in Somerset office and will travel to Folcroft office when needed.
Bi-lingual Spanish A+ but not required.
Will be responsible for Foodservice distribution customers.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Excellent customer service capabilities with a focus on relationship building.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Drug test and background check done prior to starting.
Ability to travel, including some long-distance business trips.
Good driving record, may need to operate personal, company and rental vehicles.
Occasionally may need to lift heavy objects as needed.
