Summary The Sales Representative will be assigned to a specific sales territory, maintain current customer accounts, and develop new accounts. The representative will promote SWY Crane & Rigging and its family of companies to secure orders for commercial construction crane and rigging services, focusing on establishing long‑term client relationships.
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required.
College or technical school degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
3-7 years of commercial construction sales preferred.
3-7 years of crane operations and proper rigging techniques preferred.
Ability to determine the appropriate crane for a task, prepare quotes, and coordinate with the dispatch office.
Perform all duties safely, legally, professionally, and ethically.
Responsibilities
Attain assigned territory sales objectives through planning and development.
Establish a client base supporting a $2+ MM/year revenue stream.
Conduct personal and telephone sales solicitation within the territory.
Prepare quotes and coordinate with the dispatch office.
Read and interpret manufacturer load charts to ensure proper crane selection.
Communicate safety issues to customers and internal workers.
Maintain accurate administrative reporting.
Comply with all safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Prepare and present quotes, close sales, and meet deadlines.
Prioritize workload and work independently.
Manage rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
Maintain exclusive account relationships and develop account strategies.
Other responsibilities as required.
Working Conditions
Non-smoking environment at times.
Exposure to outside weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, ice).
Potential for irregular working hours and standby periods.
Exposure to mechanical, electrical, explosive, fumes/odors, dust, chemical, or toxic waste hazards.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Potential overnight stays in hotels when the job requires travel.
Accountability
Must be punctual and available for job duties.
Excellent customer relations and communication skills.
Teamwork and cooperation for training and operational conferences.
Submit reports and paperwork timely and regularly.
Maintain an insurable driving record for company vehicle use and any required licenses.
Requirements
Track record of sales performance.
Experience in the operated crane industry.
Marketing strategy and trend analysis experience.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Overnight travel required.
