The Purpose, Role Definition, and Requirements: The WHY and WHAT for an Account Manager (Direct Hire): As an Account Manager – Direct Hire, you will build and manage a portfolio of client relationships while driving direct hire revenue across multiple industries. This role is primarily sales and account management focused, with the ability to run a full desk, partner closely with recruiting/delivery teams, and personally manage recruiting initiatives for select roles as needed.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, selling Collabera’s direct hire talent solutions, understanding hiring needs at a strategic level, and helping clients secure top permanent talent.

In the first 30 days, expect to:

Complete HR orientation, introductions across Sales, Recruiting, and Delivery teams, and direct hire–specific training.

Learn and articulate Collabera’s Direct Hire value proposition, including how we differentiate from competitors in the permanent placement space.

Develop a working knowledge of direct hire recruiting workflows, fee structures, search models, and hiring timelines.

Prepare for mock client conversations focused on: Permanent hiring pain points, market conditions, objections related to fees, exclusivity, and timelines.

Partner with leadership to establish direct hire revenue targets and pipeline goals.

In the first six months, expect to:

Identify and develop new direct hire business opportunities within prospective and existing accounts.

Own client relationships end-to-end: Discovery, needs assessment, search strategy alignment, Offer negotiation and close.

Collaborate closely with recruitment and delivery teams to ensure: High-quality candidate submissions, strong candidate experience, timely feedback and process alignment

Independently manage full-desk responsibilities where appropriate, including sourcing and screening candidates for select direct hire roles.

Negotiate and close direct hire agreements that generate sustained revenue.

In the first year, expect to:

Establish yourself as a trusted hiring partner for clients seeking permanent talent solutions.

Grow and diversify your direct hire client portfolio across industries such as: IT, Accounting & Finance, Engineering, Other professional staffing verticals.

Strategically plan pipeline growth, forecast revenue, and proactively build future hiring demand.

Mentor and support Sales Reps or junior team members contributing to direct hire success.

Partner with leadership to scale the Direct Hire business and refine go-to-market strategy.

Essential Education, Skills, and Environment:

Proven track record in full-cycle sales of large complex multi-phase managed technology projects to enterprise clients

2–4+ years of experience selling direct hire, permanent placement, or professional staffing solutions.

A deep interest in technology and able to have informed discussions about delivery.

Experience negotiating service agreements with procurement and legal departments within enterprise accounts.

Needs to have a hunter salesperson persona and a growth-based mindset.

Innovative and adaptable team player who desires to participate in change and appreciate a dynamic environment with rapidly changing priorities.

Demonstrates active listening skills, highly consultative and solutions oriented.

Open to travel.
