Job Summary/Description WSAW NewsChannel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin, has an immediate opening for a part‑time associate producer. This entry‑level position is an opportunity to learn from top journalists in the market.
Duties/Responsibilities
Assist newscast and digital content producers in planning daily news coverage.
Edit video for newscasts and write for TV newscasts and digital platforms, including wsaw.com and our social media sites.
Research story ideas for special projects, prepare and file open records requests for investigative reports.
Learn how to produce newscasts and report as an MMJ.
Qualifications/Requirements
Part‑time position capped at 28 hours a week.
Available to work 3–4 shifts per week, including evenings and weekends.
Currently completing or working toward a degree in Journalism, Communications, or a related field.
Previous internship or related journalism experience is a plus.
Responsible social media presence.
Desire to win, reflective mindset, and willingness to apply feedback.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of gear.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Motor Vehicle Records check required.
