Company: Troy Publications/Troy Messenger Job Type: Full-time Troy Publications is looking for a motivated and outgoing individual to join our sales staff! Media sales experience isn't necessary. General sales experience is helpful but not essential if one meets the criteria below. The work is fast-paced and requires one to hustle for business in a very competitive marketplace. Responsibilities
Create prospect lists and manage your own calendar of appointments. Meet with local business owners and marketing decision makers, discuss their advertising needs and goals. Prepare and present customized campaigns for clients and secure signed contracts on newspaper, magazine, digital or a combo advertising solution. Service active accounts, helping clients achieve maximum results. Ensure timely and accurate publication of sold advertising through careful order entry. Bill customers and assist in collecting delinquent balances as/if needed. Compensation is a mix of base and commission. Pay range is from $40,000 annually with acceptable performance to $60,000 or more annually with outstanding performance. Qualifications
Energetic, optimistic self-starter - an individual worker. Excellent verbal communication skills and good written communication skills Basic knowledge of -- or the ability to quickly understand -- retail and service businesses. Candidates must have the ability to meet with a business owner or decision-maker and understand the business and its marketing needs. Advertising/sales experience and familiarity with Pike County and surrounding areas a plus. Additional Information
Top performers will have the potential to advance to management responsibilities and higher compensation.
