Marketing & Communications delivers high-quality communications that tell the story of Texas Tech in the most compelling way possible. Major/Essential Functions (Responsibilities)
As a content specialist in Marketing & Communications, you will focus on crafting compelling email campaigns and digital content using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. This entry-level position is suited for a creative professional with a strong interest in digital marketing, email campaign management and content creation. The role works closely with leadership in Marketing & Communications and with university stakeholders to support the development and management of targeted, personalized, and impactful digital communications that adhere to brand standards and effectively engage key audiences. Assist in the creation and execution of email marketing campaigns using Salesforce Marketing Cloud. Develop engaging digital content, including email newsletters, informational emails, and automated email series. Utilize Marketing Cloud tools and features to segment audiences, personalize content, and optimize deliverability. Collaborate with team members to ensure content aligns with overall marketing strategies and brand guidelines. Monitor email performance metrics, analyze campaign data, and suggest improvements to increase engagement and effectiveness. Ensure compliance with email marketing best practices and regulations, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR. Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for digital marketing initiatives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Qualifications)
Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Respectful, cooperative and effective in getting along with a diverse group of employees and customers. Ability to manage multiple ad hoc and long-term projects simultaneously. Familiarity with content management systems and digital marketing tools. Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail and grammar. Ability to communicate effectively with both external and internal audiences. Understanding of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research. Excellent organizational and project management skills. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field and at least two years of experience in digital content creation. Preferred Qualifications
Two to five years of experience in digital content creation. Experience supporting or contributing to integrated marketing or communications campaigns. Experience working in a higher education, public-sector or similarly complex organizational environment. Safety Information
