About the Role As a member of the Product and Engineering team at PitchBook, you will be part of a team of big thinkers, innovators, and problem solvers who strive to deepen the positive impact we have on our customers and our company every day. As a Lead Product Designer for Deal Sourcing, you will drive the design strategy and end‑to‑end user experience for a purpose‑built Deal Sourcing product. This is a high‑impact, strategic role that requires strong vision, leadership, and the ability to translate complex business and user needs into cohesive, intuitive, and innovative design solutions. We’re looking for a self‑starter and problem solver who brings energy, motivation, and a can‑do spirit to every challenge.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Expertly utilize user‑centered design and systems thinking skills in your day‑to‑day work to create solutions for complex data and user workflow challenges while maintaining a highly usable and scalable product experience

Conduct user research and data analysis to understand user needs, behaviors, and motivators that lead to engagement and realization of customer value

Develop customer journey maps, task and user flows, and design concepts to inform product strategies, priorities, and solutions that deliver customer and business outcomes

Partner with product management and engineering team members to create product strategies, roadmaps, and features to continuously deliver value to customers and support the end‑to‑end product vision

Identify high‑impact customer and business problems and define the strategies and product experience solutions to solve them

Lead cross‑team product experience strategies and designs to deliver holistic solutions that create exceptional customer value

Translate abstract concepts into simple, elegant, and innovative designs expressed in sketches, diagrams, rapid prototypes, and detailed designs and documentation to support iterative product delivery

Monitor and evaluate the performance of your design solutions and identify strategies for enhancement and improvement

Drive continuous improvement in your work and with your product teams; seek new methods and practices that lead to greater impact and value

Mentor and coach other designers to support their growth and ability to deliver excellent solutions

Contribute to evolving design practices, tools, methods, and design maturity of our organization

Support the vision and values of the company through role‑modeling and encouraging desired behaviors

Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Skills And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Digital Design, Human Centered Design, Psychology, or equivalent

8+ years of professional experience in a Product Design/UX role, ideally in a large business or enterprise environment working on complex data and productivity solutions

Expert‑level mastery of user‑centered design and design thinking practices, with proven success defining vision, leading end‑to‑end product experiences, and applying modern methodologies to deliver innovative, meaningful solutions that drive user and business outcomes

A strong portfolio demonstrating strategic design leadership, showcasing concept development, user flows, and high‑quality execution across complex, enterprise‑level challenges, with a track record of driving clarity, alignment, and innovation

Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to articulate design decisions, influence stakeholders, and advocate for design excellence across cross‑functional teams

Strong analytical and strategic thinking, leveraging qualitative and quantitative insights to inform design direction and evaluate impact

Proven ability to lead multiple complex initiatives, manage competing priorities, and deliver with focus, rigor, and accountability

A strong sense of ownership and accountability, driving vision, quality, and results across the design process

Intellectual curiosity and structured, systems‑level thinking, combined with a collaborative, partnership‑driven working style

Humility, empathy, and enthusiasm, with the ability to build trust, foster alignment, and cultivate a positive design culture

Passion for the craft of design and a commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and impact at scale

Proficiency with Figma and modern collaboration and analysis tools (e.g., Lucid, Mixpanel, FullStory), with the agility to adopt new systems and workflows quickly

A self‑driven, can‑do mindset, fueled by initiative, resilience, and a passion for solving complex problems

Experience mentoring and guiding designers, helping elevate craft, process, and strategic impact across teams

Must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future

Compensation

Annual base salary: $160,000–$190,000

Target anual bonus percentage: 12%

Working Conditions At the heart of our company is a belief in the power of in‑person collaboration. Our culture is built on spontaneous moments—those hallway conversations, whiteboard brainstorms, and shared celebrations in each of our global offices—that simply can’t be replicated remotely. This role is expected to be in the office 5 days a week. The job conditions for this position are in a standard office setting. Employees in this position use PC and phone on an on‑going basis throughout the day. Limited corporate travel may be required to remote offices or other business meetings and events.
