Overview JOB SUMMARY:

SPCC is seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Human Resources Specialist to support the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources department. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and employee-centered HR operations across payroll, benefits, leave administration, onboarding and offboarding. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational skills, a high level of integrity, and the ability to quickly learn and manage multiple HR processes in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

Administer biweekly payroll and timekeeping processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.

Manage HR information systems and employee records to ensure data integrity, system functionality, and reporting accuracy.

Serve as a primary point of contact for HR inquiries, providing guidance, support, and appropriate escalation.

Oversee benefits, retirement, and leave administration, including enrollments, life events, vendor coordination, reconciliations, and compliance tracking.

Support recruitment, pre-employment, onboarding, and offboarding processes, ensuring compliant documentation and system access management.

Maintain personnel records and HR documentation in accordance with confidentiality, retention, and audit requirements.

Partner with the Senior Director of Human Resources on compliance initiatives, reporting, audits, training administration, and operational improvements.

Qualifications

Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

1–3 years of human resources experience, including payroll processing, benefits administration, HR systems, and employee support.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Experience with HRIS and payroll platforms required; Paylocity experience preferred.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and HR technology systems.
