Responsibilities
Supervise a well‑trained staff to ensure compliance with GAAP and University accounting practices.
Coordinate the development of significant reports and plans, including the Six‑Year Capital Plan, Maintenance Reserve Reporting, and financial feasibility studies.
Coordinate operating funds requests for new and renovated facilities, central utilities, and divisional initiatives.
Monitor and maintain the division budget, provide revenue and expenditure reports, and adjust as necessary.
Coordinate with auxiliary funded business units to ensure seamless billing of FMD services.
Develop shop rates for FMD self‑funding units and coordinate with the City of Richmond for utility billings.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
Minimum seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, accounting, or budgeting.
Minimum three (3) years of experience in a direct supervisory or managerial role, leading a financial or accounting team.
Expertise in capital budgeting, financial planning, and operational budget management.
Proven knowledge of GAAP and institutional/state accounting practices.
Proficiency with the Banner ERP and advanced proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling using spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel).
Commitment to fostering an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population.
Preferred qualifications may include additional experience in higher education or government financial services.
Salary Range $150,000 - $180,000
