
Purchasing Specialist / Chinese Bilingual (Wafer)

Summary
The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for purchasing and logistics tasks for the Hanwha Qcells Wafer Georgia Plant. The role organizes, controls, and monitors purchasing activities of assigned gases and chemicals, manages procurement of bulk gas, special gas, chemicals, negotiates contracts, monitors market trends, ensures reliable supply, collaborates with finance, operations, logistics to align procurement with business goals.
Responsibilities
Track progress of PO from creation to delivery
Check PR/PO/GR in SAP (Monthly AP Closing included)
Determine Purchase Orders based on sales forecasts and stock level
Transact Goods Receipt, article creation and modification, system flow management, and other transactions in SAP
Follow up payment and diverse financial issues with the Finance Department
Act as the Key Contact for coordination of actions for inventory management
Manage Out-of-stock and risk management with concerned services (quality, export service, packaging, marketing)
Report on annual expenditures and savings in line with the business plan
Supervise suppliers’ performance in the domain of lead time, reactivity, reliability, and flexibility
Participate in the plant’s production plan and capacity optimization
Participate in inland and overseas transport optimization to reduce cost
Ensure a close relationship with the suppliers in other domains of raw material management, lead-time, expedition, and reception
Be the focus point of the suppliers for all the issues
Be the Key Supply Chain contact for suppliers of the concerned scope
Build a strong collaboration network with other supply chain services to obtain information and synchronize processes
Adhere to the policies and procedures of Hanwha Qcells
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in SCM, Business Management, or related fields
Relevant career in the gas and chemical industry
5 years of purchasing or procurement experience
Strong knowledge of purchasing and/or procurement
Ability to travel by car and travel overseas
Able to work in a fast-paced work environment, including in areas that are not climate-controlled
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high tech manufacturing industry and startups
Proficiency in Chinese, both spoken and written
Proficiency in MS Office applications and SAP
