A Typical Work Day May Include
Create graphics and other visual materials for digital and print platforms including social media, websites and publications.
Support design needs for events, tourism and public education.
Create brochures/flyers, reports, marketing and promotional materials.
Maintain corporate graphic standards in accordance with City policies.
Create artwork for special events and marketing initiatives.
Manage the artwork on the community LED signs and electronic video boards in City Hall and other facilities.
Maintain internal documents such as letterhead templates, business cards, and City staff directory.
Manage graphic elements on the City’s website, including photos and videos.
Maintain compliance with WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
Assist with the setup, execution and tear down at City events including the Smoke on the Plains BBQ & Music Fest and Third Thursday.
Assist with maintaining the City’s photo library.
Assist as city photographer at city events, special events and meetings.
Valid Kansas driver’s license and driving record must meet commercial liability insurance requirements.
What Will Put You Ahead
Bachelor degree in graphic design, electronic media, or related area.
Two years photography/videography experience.
One year website management.
Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal skills for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships throughout the organization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud or other graphic design and photo editing software.
Basic knowledge of video production and editing software.
Basic photography knowledge.
Ability to use a Content Management System for the City website.
Ability to meet and deal tactfully with the public and communicate effectively and clearly, both orally and in writing.
Vision and auditory abilities sufficient to perform video production and editing tasks.
