Summary
ValidaTek is seeking a skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) who will provide expert-level database administration support for mission-critical Federal systems supporting the U.S. Department of State. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and long-term planning of Oracle database environments, while working closely with application development teams and government stakeholders to ensure high availability, performance, and data integrity. www.validatek.com Responsibilities
Administer and support Oracle database environments (Oracle 9.0 or higher) for Federal systems Monitor, manage, and optimize database performance, including tuning database services and servers to ensure reliability and scalability Develop, implement, and maintain database standards, operating procedures, and security controls in coordination with Government requirements Perform database backups, restores, and DBMS recovery operations to ensure data availability and continuity of operations Install, configure, and tailor Oracle database management software, including creation and configuration of databases, tablespaces, schemas, and related data objects Troubleshoot and resolve complex database-related issues, incidents, and performance problems Provide technical guidance and support to application development teams, including .NET developers, as required Support database operations in web-based application environments Project and plan long-range database administration and design requirements in coordination with Government stakeholders Utilize Oracle DBMS tools, including SQL, to support database administration, reporting, and troubleshooting Document database configurations, procedures, and operational processes Communicate effectively with technical teams, management, and customers through clear oral and written communications Qualifications
Minimum of 6 years of experience managing Oracle databases for Federal systems using Oracle 9.0 or higher Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience Active Secret clearance Demonstrated experience in Oracle database administration, performance monitoring, tuning, and service management Proven experience developing and implementing database standards, operational procedures, and security controls Hands-on experience performing database backup, restore, and DBMS recovery operations Strong background installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle database software and related data objects Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex Oracle database issues Demonstrated ability to support and collaborate with application developers, including .NET development teams Experience working in web-based application environments Proficiency with Oracle DBMS tools, including SQL Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills Ability to work as a flexible, highly motivated self-starter while managing multiple tasks Preferred Qualifications
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification or formal Oracle training Experience supporting enterprise or mission-critical systems in a Federal or DoS environment Familiarity with database security, auditing, and compliance requirements Compensation
Posted Min Pay Rate USD $130,000.00/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate USD $160,000.00/Yr. Salary Disclosure Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
