Technical Writer - Lansing, MI
Contract Duration: 6 Months (Hybrid)
Seeking an experienced Technical Writer to supporting agency initiatives by reviewing and updating documents and web content for ADA WCAG 2.1AA compliance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Services Manager to establish best practices, train program staff, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
Must Haves: 4 years of general technical writing experience. 1 year of experience mentoring and working with teams to implement documentation standards. 2 years of experience reviewing documentation against standards and addressing gaps. 1 year of experience focusing on ADA WCAG2.1AA compliance. 1 year of experience with ADA tools like Microsoft and Adobe accessibility checkers. Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain user and technical documentation. Collaborate with the web team and Digital Accessibility Review Team (DART) to ensure compliance. Train staff on best practices for ADA compliance. Compose various technical documents and coordinate the production of materials. Review and edit prepared material and illustrations.
