Role Overview
The Salesforce Architect - Public Sector Solutions will be responsible for designing, governing, and delivering scalable Salesforce solutions for government and public sector organizations. This role requires deep expertise in Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (PSS), compliance-driven architectures, and complex enterprise integrations while ensuring security, scalability, and long-term sustainability. The architect will work closely with government stakeholders, business analysts, delivery teams, and platform owners to translate policy, regulatory, and service requirements into robust Salesforce solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture & Solution Design Design end-to-end Salesforce architecture leveraging Salesforce Public Sector Solutions, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, OmniStudio, and Flow Define scalable and secure application, data, and integration architectures aligned with public sector compliance standards Create reference architectures, solution blueprints, and technical design documents Ensure alignment with enterprise IT standards, digital transformation strategies, and cloud governance frameworks Public Sector Domain Expertise
Architect solutions for:
Case & Complaint Management Licensing, Permits, and Inspections (LPI) Grants Management Benefits & Eligibility Management Citizen Services & Digital Portals
Translate legislative, regulatory, and policy requirements into Salesforce capabilities Ensure accessibility (WCAG), data privacy, and audit-readiness across solutions Salesforce Platform Leadership
Define Salesforce best practices, design patterns, and coding standards Lead configuration and customization using:
OmniStudio (FlexCards, Integration Procedures, DataRaptors) Flows (Screen, Auto-launched, Scheduled) Apex, LWC, and SOQL where required
Oversee Experience Cloud portals for citizens, partners, and internal users Drive platform optimization, performance tuning, and technical debt reduction Security, Compliance & Governance
Design security models including role hierarchy, sharing rules, permission sets, and data classification Ensure compliance with:
FedRAMP (where applicable) SOC 2 GDPR / CCPA State and Federal data protection regulations
Implement audit logging, encryption, identity management, and secure authentication (SSO, MFA) Integration & Data Architecture
Architect integrations with external systems such as:
ERP and Financial Systems Identity & Access Management systems Legacy government platforms Document Management and Payment Gateways
Define API strategies (REST/SOAP, Platform Events, MuleSoft) Lead data migration, data quality, and master data management strategies Delivery & Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as technical advisor to program managers, product owners, and government stakeholders Support estimation, solution planning, and risk mitigation Review and approve technical designs and code developed by implementation teams Provide architectural guidance across multiple projects and programs Leadership & Enablement
Mentor Salesforce developers and technical leads Conduct architecture reviews and design workshops Contribute to reusable assets, accelerators, and best practice repositories Qualifications
Salesforce Expertise
Salesforce Public Sector Solutions (mandatory) Service Cloud, Experience Cloud OmniStudio (Vlocity) Apex, LWC, SOQL Flow & declarative automation Salesforce security model Public Sector Experience
5+ years working with Government / Public Sector clients Strong understanding of public sector processes, compliance, and governance Experience delivering citizen-facing and case-centric solutions Integration & Architecture
REST/SOAP APIs, Platform Events Middleware (MuleSoft preferred) Data modeling and large-scale data migrations Cloud architecture and enterprise integration patterns Certifications (Preferred / Mandatory)

Additional Information
