Packaging Designer

to join our Marketing & Product Support team. This role is primarily responsible for designing and managing packaging projects across multiple brands, ensuring accuracy, quality, and alignment with corporate and secondary brand standards. The

Packaging Designer

will collaborate closely with Product Line Management, Purchasing, Operations, and external vendors to deliver high-quality packaging solutions across a diverse product portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Manage packaging design projects from layout through final approval, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met. Create packaging layouts and artwork in alignment with MAPEI corporate standards and applicable secondary brand guidelines. Review, approve, and route packaging proofs through the internal approval process. Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Line Managers, Purchasing, Operations, and external vendors. Incorporate revisions and updates based on stakeholder feedback. Prepare final artwork for print production; review proofs and printed samples for accuracy and quality. Review vendor-produced packaging and coordinate corrective actions as needed prior to use. Partner with Purchasing and vendors to support packaging quality standards and attend press approvals when required. Maintain and support packaging design standards, documentation, and reference materials. Serve as a backup approver for packaging-related requests in the supervisor's absence. Adhere to all MAPEI policies, safety rules, and work procedures. Perform assigned tasks in conformance with procedures and instructions established in the Business Management System (BMS) and in compliance with applicable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulatory requirements. Associate's degree (AA) in Art, Design, or a related field, preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent required. Four to five (4-5) years of experience in packaging design, textbook layout, or desktop publishing. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Ability to work in both Windows and Apple Mac environments. Familiarity with electronic proofing systems and digital production workflows. Ability to distinguish between zones of color, which is an essential function of the position.
