
Construction Estimator

Prime Retail Services is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years experience in estimating commercial construction projects, including ground-up construction, renovations, and tenant improvements.
The Commercial Construction Estimator will play a key role in the preconstruction process, responsible for accurately forecasting project costs and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver competitive and profitable bids. As a Commercial Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for estimating functions and working closely with the project management team to deliver clear, concise and complete estimates maximizing cost savings, gross margins and net profit.
Essential Functions:
• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare accurate and detailed
estimates.
• Manage the bid process to ensure a minimum of 3 bids per trade are obtained.
• Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Conduct site walk-throughs and site evaluations for existing conditions scope and qualifications.
• Attend periodic reviews and tour projects as appropriate to collaborate with onsite construction team.
• Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers and evaluate proposals for scope and cost accuracy.
• Analyze historical data and develop unit cost estimates.
• Prepare and present clear, concise, and comprehensive bid packages.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop project budgets and
schedules.
• Identify potential risks and provide value engineering solutions where applicable.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing
and high-quality work.
• Track and document estimate data for future use and reference.

Requirements:
5 years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction (e.g., retail, office buildings, educational facilities, healthcare, etc.).
Proficiency with estimating software
Solid understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
