
Herschend is seeking an innovative and attentive Catering Sales Manager to help lead our newest hospitality venture, Dolly Parton’s Song Teller Hotel, located in the heart of Downtown Nashville. The Catering Sales Manager will play a key role in the pre-opening sales efforts of Dolly Parton’s Song Teller Hotel, a one-of-a-kind destination featuring 245 guest rooms, two food & beverage entertainment venues, a market, and Dolly Parton’s Museum. The Catering Sales Manager is responsible for generating catering revenue through proactive sales strategies in traditional meeting spaces, a performance venue, and various unique hotel outlets. This role focuses on securing business in key market segments through client relationship development, such as social, corporate, and association events, while coordinating details and menus for clients that hit all the right notes. To achieve success in this role, one must drive results while adhering to our Hearts hospitality culture. The Catering Sales Manager works collaboratively with marketing, revenue, and operations teams to ensure sales initiatives are aligned with the hotel’s strategic goals—creating events that feel seamless, special, and unmistakably Song Teller. Summary of Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Serve as the primary contact for all catering clients from proposal through post-event follow-up.
Develop and implement sales strategies to attract group events and corporate business in alignment with banquet and catering revenue targets.
Conduct outbound sales calls, site inspections, and client meetings to build relationships and generate new leads.
Leverage digital tools, local market intelligence, and competitor insights to target high-value segments.
Manage assigned accounts and cultivate long-term partnerships by understanding client needs and offering tailored solutions.
Ensure timely response to all RFPs and other leads/inquiries. Prepare proposals and/or contracts advising prospective customers of hotel room and/or meeting space availability and quoting rates.
Attend and participate in the weekly hotel BEO meetings.
Develop detailed proposals, contracts, and Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) that capture all event specifications — floor plans, menus, setup, décor, and timing.
Collaborate with the Events, Banquets, and Operations teams to ensure smooth execution of group stays and special events.
Accountable for prospecting goals and closing on assigned accounts/territory to positively impact group room revenue, banquet, and catering revenues.
Responsible for the direct booking and re-booking of group rooms for various clients. Maximize profitability and revenue of the resort by upselling to achieve sales goals.
Develop strategies to meet or exceed personal booking goals, evolving strategies as necessary.
Maintain current knowledge of competitors and competitive markets to effectively sell against the competition and achieve positive market penetration.
Balance revenue goals with client needs while ensuring adherence to hotel policies and brand standards.
Lead pre- and post-convention meetings (as applicable) and provide department colleagues with communication that will improve our ability to deliver outstanding service.
Professionally represent Dolly Parton’s Song Teller Hotel by participating in client and industry events, tradeshows, and community functions to promote brand visibility and expand market reach.
Propose and contract wedding room block requests up to 15 rooms on peak.
Ability to access, understand and accurately input information using Delphi.fdc.

Minimum of two (2) years of hotel or venue sales experience Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales goals, managing key accounts, and driving revenue growth Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, PMS and POS Systems to include Opera (PMS), Delphi, Salesforce or other sales management systems Comprehensive knowledge of wholesale travel and group contract negotiations.
