Position Summary The Chequamegon School District is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Associate Principal. The Associate Principal will act to foster a positive school climate, manage student conduct, and ensure the smooth daily operation in the schools. The successful candidate will serve as a leader in our District who is capable of supporting a diverse student body, primarily working with elementary and middle level students.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Building Management

Serve to provide immediate decision-making and problem-solving during the school day.

Assist in overseeing building operations, logistics, and supervision schedules to ensure a safe and orderly environment.

Student Behavior & Attendance

Lead student discipline and conduct management at the assigned location, utilizing restorative and corrective practices.

Monitor daily student attendance for Elementary/middle level; implement follow-up procedures and interventions for truancy or chronic absenteeism.

Maintain a visible presence in hallways, cafeterias, and during arrival/dismissal to ensure student safety.

Communication & Community Relations

Serve as a primary point of contact for parents regarding daily student matters, behavioral concerns, and general inquiries.

Foster strong, positive relationships with families and community members to support student success.

Instructional Support & Interventions

Support district instructional expectations and classroom environments.

Collaborate with the Principal team to implement and monitor student interventions (academic and behavioral).

Conduct observations and supervise staff as assigned.

Leadership Alignment

Collaborate with the Principals to support district-wide initiatives.

Participate in leadership planning to ensure alignment between the grade and school levels.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Educational Leadership or related field

Valid Wisconsin Administrative License (Principal #5051) or eligibility to obtain.

Previous experience in teaching or school leadership is preferred.

Ability to work effectively with a wide range of age groups (Early Childhood through Middle School).

Strong conflict resolution, communication, and organizational skills.

Personal Attributes

Adaptable: Able to switch gears quickly between the needs of a 4-year-old student and a middle school adolescent.

Decisive: Comfortable making immediate operational decisions to maintain school safety and flow.

Collaborative: A team player who can work closely with the 7-12 Principal and Pk-6 Principal.
