About the Role The Retention Marketing Manager supports the execution and optimization of the customer lifecycle journey for Kate Somerville across U.S. and U.K. markets. This role focuses on delivering thoughtful, data-informed CRM programs that drive repeat purchase, subscription engagement, and long-term customer value.
Reporting to the Ecommerce Director, this individual will manage day-to-day lifecycle campaigns across Email, SMS, and related channels, working closely with Creative, Digital, and Customer Support teams. This is a hands‑on role ideal for a retention marketer who enjoys building, launching, and optimizing campaigns while learning how lifecycle strategy evolves at scale.
Key Responsibilities Lifecycle & Multi-Channel CRM Strategy
Orchestrate High-Performance Campaigns: Direct the planning and deployment of global promotional calendars and automated "always-on" triggers (including Welcome, Cart Recovery, and Win-back series).
Creative Pipeline Management: Lead CRM creative workflow, guiding the process from initial briefing and asset feedback to QA and final scheduling.
Growth-Focused Programming: Build retention-specific campaigns designed to bolster repeat purchase frequency, subscription stickiness, and customer engagement.
Advanced Segmentation: Utilize sophisticated cohort analysis to deliver personalized messaging across Email, SMS, and Push notifications, ensuring the right message reaches the right customer at the right time.
Optimization Framework: Support A/B testing initiatives by implementing test variations and making strategic recommendations based on results.
Subscription Ecosystem Growth
Revenue Expansion: Implement strategies to increase the subscription revenue by enhancing renewal rates and reducing churn.
Agency Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact for subscription partners (e.g., Ordergroove), ensuring the "Subscribe & Save" roadmap aligns with DTC business goals.
UX Oversight: Monitor the subscription portal and customer interface to identify friction points and ensure a frictionless path to repurchase.
Insights, Analytics & Performance
Reporting: Leverage dashboards to track CRM health (Open Rates, CTR, Revenue per Recipient) alongside business-critical metrics like churn rate and LTV.
Forecast Support: Contribute data-driven recommendations to monthly promotional planning based on historical lifecycle trends and seasonal performance.
Campaign Analysis: Analyze performance following major commercial moments (e.g., BFCM, Anniversary Sales) to extract actionable intelligence for future retention efforts.
Technical Operations & Cross-Functional Support
Platform Stewardship: Monitor the health of the Email Service Provider (ESP) and proactively resolve technical discrepancies or integration bugs between Shopify, Klaviyo, and third-party apps.
Brand Alignment: Partner with Social and Brand teams to ensure all retention touchpoints reflect the Kate Somerville voice and uphold the brand’s premium positioning.
Site Optimization: Support the Ecommerce Director with consumer experience and CRO deliverables when needed.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years in e-commerce or digital marketing, with a focus on retention. Beauty, Skincare, Luxury Goods or e-commerce CPG experience preferred.
Strategic Depth: Expert-level understanding of lifecycle mapping and the ability to build emotional brand loyalty that transcends basic discounting.
Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Shopify Plus and Klaviyo; experience with subscription logic and retention-specific software.
Analytical Capability: Able to navigate complex data sets using Google Analytics (GA4).

Compensation Competitive and commensurate with experience. $60k–$80k annually, based on experience. The position is eligible for medical, dental, and vision benefits, paid time off, and the Company’s 401k plan with match.
Work Environment This is a fully remote role that requires standard computer-based work and frequent communication via video conferencing, email, and chat. Occasional travel may be required for company meetings or events.
