The Events Manager is the execution engine behind EO Chicago’s high-volume, high-impact events. This role owns logistics, production, and live event experience — ensuring every EO Chicago event runs smoothly, professionally, and with intention. This is a hands-on, operator role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves execution, and takes pride in delivering great experiences. Event Execution, Design & Operations
End-to-end execution of all EO Chicago events, from concept through post-event wrap-up Venue coordination, AV, vendors, run-of-show, and on-site logistics Hands-on setup, troubleshooting, teardown, and live problem-solving Own event timelines, deliverables, deadlines, and execution details Bring creative event design thinking to each experience — adding intentional touches that make events feel special, elevated, and uniquely EO Chicago Identify opportunities for small but meaningful moments that enhance the overall experience Member Experience
Own how events feel in real time — energy, flow, clarity, and care Ensure members feel welcomed, informed, and taken care of throughout Handle issues calmly, confidently, and decisively during live events Act as a clear decision-maker on-site, making judgment calls without waiting for direction when needed Own all event-related vendor relationships Source, negotiate, and manage vendors per event Ensure vendors meet quality, cost, and professionalism standards Manage event budgets and invoicing Provide event details, timelines, assets, and deadlines to support marketing and communications Document and continuously improve event SOPs and execution processes Deliver a timely post-event summary report after each event, capturing: Collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Member Experience & EO House Manager Willingly step into adjacent responsibilities as needed — this is a small, collaborative team Who You’ll Work With

sets priorities, strategy, and direction. The
Member Experience & EO House Manager
owns daytime House operations, member support, and communications. You’ll collaborate closely with both, and work with Board leaders to execute experiences aligned with the chapter’s vision. What Success Looks Like

5+ years experience in event operations, hospitality, community management, or member-based organizations Proven ability to execute events end-to-end Experience in high-touch environments (clubs, venues, restaurants, hotels, coworking, nonprofits, etc.) Comfortable working evenings and occasional weekends Proficiency with Eventbrite, Google Workspace, and basic systems (Airtable a plus) Reliable transportation required for travel to event locations You are seeking a primarily creative or strategy-only role You want a remote-first or desk-only position You require a strict 9–5 schedule You prefer to avoid decision-making or on-the-fly problem-solving You prefer large, slow-moving organizations with heavy structure What You’ll Gain
