Save Job

A leading European project forwarder, headquartered in Germany, is accelerating its U.S. growth strategy and establishing senior leadership for its Projects division in Houston. This role represents full ownership of project cargo delivery, governance, and commercial performance across the U.S. platform. The position is both strategic and hands-on. It carries responsibility for building the Projects function, leading senior project teams, and overseeing the execution of complex, high-value industrial logistics programs. The environment is execution-driven, technically rigorous, and built around long-cycle capital and infrastructure projects rather than transactional forwarding. Job Responsibilities

Own and lead the U.S. Project Cargo function, with full accountability for delivery performance, governance, and financial outcomes Set and execute the project logistics strategy across air, ocean, and multimodal transport solutions Provide executive oversight of turnkey and EPC-linked project logistics, including heavy-lift, oversized, out-of-gauge, breakbulk, and engineered cargo movements Act as the senior escalation point for complex operational, commercial, and contractual project issues Oversee transport engineering concepts, method statements, lifting plans, stowage strategies, and route feasibility at a governance level Lead, mentor, and scale project management and coordination teams in line with U.S. growth objectives Own project P&L oversight, margin protection, cost governance, and risk management frameworks Partner with commercial leadership on tenders, RFQs, contract negotiations, and long-cycle project pursuits Establish standardized project execution, reporting, and control frameworks aligned with global governance requirements Build and manage senior-level relationships with EPCs, OEMs, ports, carriers, authorities, and key subcontractors Ensure full compliance with international trade regulations, export controls, customs procedures, and internal governance standards What We Are Looking For

Senior leadership experience in U.S. project cargo or industrial project logistics Proven track record owning and scaling project cargo teams and delivery functions Deep technical exposure to heavy-lift, oversized, out-of-gauge, breakbulk, and engineered cargo programs Experience leading turnkey or EPC-integrated logistics scopes for capital, energy, infrastructure, or industrial projects Strong commercial and contractual leadership, including P&L oversight and risk governance Credibility operating at executive and board-level with internal and external stakeholders Structured, decisive leadership style with high accountability Ability to balance strategic growth with hands-on delivery oversight Interviews are being conducted this week and the search is highly targeted. This role is only open to candidates with demonstrable U.S. project cargo leadership experience. General freight forwarding or regional operations backgrounds without true project ownership will not be considered. Applicants must evidence senior accountability for complex, engineered cargo programs involving oversized, out-of-gauge, heavy-lift, or breakbulk movements executed within the U.S. market. Shortlisting is selective and experience-led. Candidates meeting the technical, leadership, and commercial criteria will progress quickly through the process.
