About the Role
We are seeking a talented Senior Vice President of Audit Leadership to enhance our internal audit program through strategic and hands-on leadership. This pivotal role will ensure the financial stability and sustainable growth of our organization, all while valuing and empowering our talented team. The SVP will play a critical role in shaping the future of our internal audit practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading and managing a team of skilled audit professionals.
Ensuring compliance with banking regulatory requirements.
Evaluating the effectiveness of controls designed to mitigate risks and safeguard company assets.
Providing strategic recommendations to enhance organizational operations.
Establishing a clear purpose, authority, and responsibility for the internal audit department.
To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree; CPA designation is preferred.
Extensive commercial banking audit experience.
In-depth knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and Federal and State regulations.
The ideal candidate will possess strong risk assessment skills, develop an effective audit plan, and evaluate third-party audit consultants. The SVP will ensure timely implementation of the audit plan, uphold professional standards, and maintain compliance with all bank policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborating effectively with external auditors, government regulators, and the BSA Officer will be essential for addressing potential concerns.
