Finance Director
to lead our accomplished Accounting Team. The ideal candidate will excel in prioritizing tasks, communicating effectively, documenting processes, identifying risks, and executing operational improvements. Key Responsibilities: Manage financial statements and reporting to ensure strict compliance with GAAP, tax obligations, and FAR standards, while maintaining clear communication with our Operations and Contract Teams. Enhance and automate our financial ERP processes to promote compliance and operational efficiency. Develop, document, and enforce internal policies and procedures aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Assist with DCAA reporting, including the annual I.C.E. submission and CAS reporting. Safeguard company assets and information through rigorous maintenance and enforcement of policies and procedures. Estimate short- and long-term cash flow needs, ensuring the company retains adequate funding and liquidity. Lead and support the performance of our Accounting Team, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Financial Reporting. Encourage team member development for future leadership roles. Ensure accuracy and timely completion of essential accounting processes, including journal entries, allocations, account reconciliations, and closing schedules. Oversee annual external financial and compliance audits as necessary. Continuously enhance internal and external monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes. Collaborate on refining our annual and quarterly budgeting processes, along with monthly budget vs actual reporting. Qualifications: Active CPA certification required. In-depth knowledge of FAR and DCAA compliance in a cost-plus environment is highly preferred. Proven experience as a Controller or in similar roles (5+ years). Significant people management experience (6+ years). Expertise in MS Excel and advanced proficiency across the entire MS Office suite. Ability to instill problem-solving capabilities within the team. Experience managing accounting ERP systems (e.g., JAMIS or Costpoint). Solid understanding of banking processes and financial data analysis. Experience in budget management and model creation is a plus.
