Position Overview
As the lead technologist for the Salesforce Center of Excellence, you will report to the VP of Enterprise Applications. This role transcends simple solution design to encompass the architectural vision, platform strategy, and technical roadmap to support scalable and secure Salesforce innovations across the organization. As the architect, you will uphold architectural integrity, guiding teams through complex integrations, modernization, and multi-cloud alignment.
Strategic Responsibilities
Define and evolve the architectural vision for Salesforce at Zelis, aligning with enterprise IT strategy, business objectives, and emerging technologies.
Champion platform scalability and extensibility across Sales, Service, Experience, and Analytics Clouds.
Evaluate and recommend implementation patterns for new Salesforce capabilities like Data Cloud, Agentforce, and Mulesoft.
Technical Roadmap Ownership Develop and maintain a dynamic technical roadmap outlining platform evolution, major releases, and innovative projects.
Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, and engineering leads to prioritize roadmap items based on business value and technical feasibility.
Ensure transparency of the roadmap across stakeholders while proactively managing dependencies and trade-offs.
Architectural Governance & Patterns Establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices across all Salesforce teams.
Maintain a library of Architectural Decision Records (ADRs) for traceability and consistency.
Lead architecture reviews and technical design sessions for major initiatives.
Integration Leadership Design robust integration strategies between Salesforce and enterprise systems such as ERP, data lakes, and marketing platforms.
Define API standards and middleware usage for seamless data exchange.
Ensure integrations meet security, performance, and compliance standards, including HIPAA and SOC 2.
Tactical Responsibilities Conduct performance assessments and optimizations across Salesforce environments.
Lead proof-of-concepts for new technologies within the Salesforce ecosystem.
Mentor developers on Apex, integration best practices, and platform capabilities.
Work with DevOps to ensure CI/CD pipelines adhere to architectural principles.
Collaborate with data architects to ensure data governance and analytics readiness.
Desired Qualifications 8+ years in enterprise architecture, with 5+ years focused on Salesforce.
Salesforce Certified Application Architect and System Architect credentials.
Deep expertise in Apex, Lightning Web Components, REST/SOAP APIs, and integration architecture.
Experience with Mulesoft, Heroku, Kafka, or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of security protocols and compliance frameworks.
Prior experience in healthcare, fintech, or similarly regulated industries.
Familiarity with microservices and cloud-native design principles.

Base Salary Range $169,000.00 - $225,000.00 We are committed to fair and equitable compensation packages. This range factors multiple elements, including experience and skills. Our total rewards also include discretionary bonuses, commissions, and other incentives based on the role.
