
An established New York–based general contractor is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee field operations on NYC public-sector projects, including institutional and municipal work.
This role is suited to a Superintendent who is NYC-certified, well-versed in agency-driven construction environments, and comfortable managing complex projects with strict safety, quality, and compliance standards.
Role Overview
The Superintendent will be responsible for the day-to-day on-site management of construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and in accordance with contract documents and NYC agency requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily field operations across active construction sites
Enforce site safety programs and ensure full OSHA compliance
Ensure work complies with drawings, specifications, and agency standards
Interface with NYC agencies (DDC, SCA, DOB, etc.) and inspectors
Required Certifications & Qualifications
NYC DOB–certified Construction Superintendent (required)
OSHA 30-hour certification (required)
Additional safety certifications (Site Safety Manager / Coordinator) strongly preferred
5+ years of experience as a Superintendent on NYC construction projects
Proven experience on public-sector or institutional projects
Strong knowledge of NYC Building Codes, DOB regulations, and agency procedures
