Apollo Technical has an immediate need for a interior designer in Austin TX area with a busy firm.

As the Lead Interior Designer , you will be the visionary force behind the interior and exterior finish elements of our residential construction projects. This role is a blend of high-level creativity and technical precision, requiring you to bridge the gap between aesthetic inspiration and buildable reality.

You will be responsible for developing cohesive design plans that balance client dreams with budgetary realities and construction requirements. From initial concept through to final execution, you will collaborate with architects, builders, and vendors to ensure every project is delivered with a high degree of accuracy, innovation, and sophistication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Strategy & Concept: Develop comprehensive interior and exterior finish plans for residential builds, ensuring designs are aesthetically superior and functionally optimized.
  • Documentation & Precision: Produce high-accuracy design documentation for use in client presentations, purchasing, and onsite construction.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and company owners, translating abstract needs into executable, budget-conscious concepts.
  • Project Lifecycle Management: Partner with Architecture, Construction, and Purchasing departments to ensure design integrity throughout the project’s lifespan.
  • Resource & Vendor Management: Source materials, negotiate quotes with vendors, and coordinate with contracted labor to ensure the proper execution of designs.
  • Innovation & Research: Stay at the forefront of residential construction trends and material costs to provide innovative, research-backed solutions to design challenges.
  • Onsite Coordination: Facilitate onsite meetings and site visits to ensure design implementation aligns with specifications.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Software Proficiency: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD . Proficiency in Sketchup , BuilderTrend , and standard productivity suites (G-Suite/Office).
  • Plan Interpretation: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex architectural plan sets and specifications.
  • Design Knowledge: In-depth understanding of residential construction practices, current trends, and cost dynamics.

Experience & Education

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design (Required).
  • Certification: NCIDQ Certification (Preferred).
  • Experience: 3–5 years of professional experience in residential interior design for construction projects, with a proven track record of direct client interaction.
